  1. Heat olive oil in a dutch oven or large skillet.
  2. Saute onions until translucent, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic, saute for a minute or two.
  4. Add white wine, scrape pan to deglaze.
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, red pepper, basil, salt, oregano & parsley.
  6. Simmer, covered, for 15- 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste, add additional red pepper if more heat is preferred.
  8. Add sardines. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  9. Salt & pepper to taste if necessary.
  10. Serve over cooked spaghetti or linguine. Enjoy!
