- Heat 2 tsp ghee in a pan. Add sooji and roast on low flame till it turns aromatic.
- Next add milk, sugar, desiccated coconut, few drops of orange food colour, cardamom powder and salt. Stir well.
- Cook on a low flame for 5-7 minutes till sooji thickens completely. Stir intermittently. When sooji turns to a thick dough add one more tsp ghee to make the dough more soft. Turn off the flame. Cover and keep aside for 2-3 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 8-10 equal portions. Take one portion of the dough and shape it like an orange. Complete making similar orange shaped sandesh with rest of the dough.
- Garnish the sandesh with pistachios, chill for few hours and serve.
